Former residents of Malali Low-cost Housing estate in Kaduna, whose houses were revoked and demolished were today given new offers of plots as compensation.

Recall that a stakeholder meeting was convened on 21st Jan 2026 were it was revealed that an investigation has been ordered by the State Government to ascertain the circumstances behind the demolition and compensation offered with a firm commitment to provide redress to the aggrieved parties.

In fulfillment of that promise the Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani has given the approval for new offers of plots to be given as compensation.

Making the presentation the Director-General KADGIS, Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim urged the beneficiaries to hasten the development of the plots given so as to become house owners and to desist from selling.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries Chairman of former Malali low-cost residents recalled the struggle to get to this point which lasted for 9 years and which culminated in a  final resolution today. He expressed immense gratitude to the Governor for addressing their plight and to KADGIS for facilitating the new allocation.

Other members described the day as historic and appreciated the Governor for being  compassionate and People centred and pray for his continued success in office.
